Mrunal Thakur: 'I Feel Like I Have Worked With The Entire Shahid Kapoor's Family' - EXCLUSIVE
Mrunal Thakur seems to be on a professional high at the moment. The actress just had her latest film, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Toofaan, released on Amazon Prime Video where she is paired opposite Farhan Akhtar. Up next, she has the Telugu film Jersey’s Hindi remake by the same name, where she plays Shahid Kapoor’s wife, followed by Umesh Shukla’s Aankh Micholi and Pippa with Ishaan Khatter and Priyanshu Painyuli.

Mention it to Mrunal that she is working with both the brothers—Shahid and Ishaan—in her upcoming films and she says, “The beautiful thing is that I feel like I have worked with the entire family. I have worked with Supriya Pathak ji in Toofaan, with Pankaj Kapur sir and Shahid in Jersey and now with Ishaan in Pippa. It’s just a beautiful coincidence.”

Mrunal was in the midst of working on Jersey when Pippa was announced. So, did Shahid tell her anything about his brother so as to ease her in the process of working with him? “When Shahid and I talk about Ishaan, we only speak about how talented that boy is. I can’t wait to work with him because the energy he imparts is amazing,” she responds.

Now, Mrunal has worked with Shahid and even though Pippa’s shoot hasn’t started, she must have had some reading sessions with Ishaan at least. So, are there any similarities between the two brothers? “They both are extremely different and so is their approach towards their work. I haven’t spent much time with Ishaan yet but we get along really well and I know that you will see that bonding in Pippa,” she promises.

As for her films, Jersey is eyeing a Diwali release this year, and Aankh Micholi was to release on Diwali last year but got pushed due to Covid. So, mention a chance of a clash between the two films at the box office this Diwali, and Mrunal shares, “I really feel that I don’t really care if it is clashing or not as long as my movies are coming out and people are enjoying it. I am happy with that much.”
